Accessorize Cosmetics Range

I have always been a huge fan of Accessorize. Due to my magpie-like tendencies I've always been drawn to all the beautiful sparkling jewels and the gorgeous embellished bags that Accessorize have to offer. I've therefore been eagerly anticipating the launch of Accessorize's make up range. Ever since I saw it mentioned on .....'s blog, I couldn't wait to get my hands on all the beautiful baked bronzers, blushes and eye shadows, to name a few. So you'll understand my excitement last week when their make up range was launched online (with free delivery all week!) and in stores.

I searched through page upon page of make up on their site, adding more and more to my already overflowing shopping bag. When I got to the checkout my order totalled over a whopping £100, and so I HAD to go back and be realistic about what I could afford (although I could have happily bought pretty much everything on there). I settled for a lipstick, a blush, a bronzer, and three eye shadows. There are also some beautiful nail polishes in the cosmetics range too, but recently I've gone a bit nail polish mad and have bought far too much, so refrained from getting any. Something I think worth a mention is that two of the nail polishes look to me like perfect dupes of MAC's Bad Fairy and Mean and Green (which you can see my review on here) so if you missed out on those I recommend you check out the one's Accessorize has to offer!

Anyway, onto the products I purchased...

Lipstick in Velvet Pink

I love this lipstick. It is a gorgeous, bright rosey pink without being too in-your-face. It goes on beautifully and I find it to be fairly moisturising as well. It smells nice too - not dissimilar to the vanillary smell of MAC lipsticks! It was £5, which I think is a really reasonable price. The packaging is gorgeous too - it even has a diamondy-mirror thing on the lid!

Merged Eyeshadows in Golden Caramel and Pink Planet

I have to say I have a mixed review on these. They look AMAZING in the pan, but I must say I was really quite disappointed with the Golden Caramel shadow. When I got it I wasn't sure if I'd received the wrong colour - it is just SO much paler than the image on the Accessorize website portrays. I'm not sure if this is because it is due to it being baked, and therefore it's pretty much pick of the draw how yours will turn out, but I just think it's a reall significant difference. My sister ordered the same shadow and hers came looking really pale too! Here is the picture from the website...
See what I mean? It looks so golden, compared to the very pale, beige shadow I received.

As well as this, I find this particular merged shadow really hard to work with. It's one of those shadows you really need to apply lots of too get a good colour - it's very sheer in my opinion and so I probably wouldn't buy again. Maybe I need to work with it a little more, but at the minute, not a favourite of mine! Having said that, Pink Planet is a beautiful colour. It is also so much easier to use and the colour pay off is brilliant. And, thankfully, it is the same colour as the website! These are £4.50 each.

Baked Duo Eyeshadow in Rendezvous

I've not used this shadow much as yet; from first impressions it is a very pale pink and peach colour (paler than the second picture appears!) but I think this could make a really beautiful peachy pink eye. Also, the packaging is looooovely! This was £4.

Baked Bronzer in California

From first impressions, I love this bronzer. You can really see the quality of the bronzer just by looking at it. I originally thought the bronzer would be quite shimmery but it isn't at all which I like as it doesn't highlight my imperfections! Very pleased with it so far! This cost £6.

Merged Blusher in Pretty Pink

This is a lovely blush both in the pan and on my face! It's a gorgeous peachy pink with lilac veining through it. I will say it's quite sheer so you have to layer it up a bit to get a nice colour, but other than that I'm loving this! It was £5.

Thought I'd pop in a picture of me wearing some of the cosmetics (as if there aren't enough pics in this post already!)
Wearing Accessorize lipstick, blush, bronzer (to contour), and merged eyeshadow in Golden Caramel all over lid (with MAC's Woodwinked in the outer corner)

Overall I'm really impressed with the majority of Accessorize's cosmetics. The packaging is gorgeous and the products are beautiful to look at. There are a few things I'm a little disappointed about; the sheerness of some of the products and the difference in colour of the Caramel shadow, but other than that I'm really happy with what I got! Has anyone else purchased anything from the new Accessorize cosmetics range?
