My New Favourite Boots

Autumn is well and truly underway and so recently I'd been on the hunt for a pair of sturdy boots to get me through the season. Believe it or not, I don't actually own a pair of 'decent' Autumn/Winter boots. Okay, so I have my boots for nights out etc., and a few pairs of Primark flat boots that tend to get me by, but in terms of high-quality, waterproof boots that will keep my tootsies nice and warm (and dry!) I have absolutely zilch.

I've always wanted a pair of Dr. Martens boots - right back from my punky-wannabe/emo days until today's much girlier reality, Dr. Martens have been 'the' boots that I'd set my sights on. I love how they can add a boyish edge to a girly outfit, rock things up a bit as well as being incredibly sturdy. However, being a strict vegetarian who doesn't wear leather, I thought I'd never be able to own a pair. So, when I stumbled across this pair on the Cloggs website, and learnt that Dr. Martens actually do vegan boots too, I couldn't believe it.

I was lucky enough to be sent a pair of absolutely beautiful Dr Martens 1460 in Cherry Red from the fabulous Cloggs, and since getting them I've been wearing them constantly. These boots are ridiculously comfy, look amazing on and go with so many of my outfits. I don't think I've ever owned boots that are this amazing quality, and considering they're not real leather I am so impressed. I love wearing these with dresses and skirts in particular, just as they add a bit of a masculine touch and I feel a little bit like a cute rag doll-type character wearing them (I swear there's a rag doll that wears these boots?!) I adore the colour of them and think it goes perfectly with a lot of the tartan items I own, and I love wearing this deep, almost oxblood red at this time of year.

These are most definitely my current favourite boots and I can see me wearing them religiously over the next few months. Are you a fan of Dr. Martens? What do you think to my beautiful cherry red booties?
