Hello Kitty by OPI Review

I think we can all agree that OPI is just the best when it comes to cute nail polish collections. Whether it's the Minnie Mouse, Muppets or even the Shrek offering, or the celebrity collaborations such as my personal fave Gwen Stefani, they are always so amazing at coming up with the most exciting collections that are guaranteed to have nail polish fanatics in a spin.

One of their most recent new collections is the Hello Kitty range, and to be perfectly honest I'm really surprised they didn't do this one sooner. Of course, Hello Kitty is the epitome of all things cute and girly, and so the collection naturally delivers some stand-out, super sweet shades. There are twelve polishes in the range, which is mainly made up of a variety of pretty pinks, along with a bright yellow, blue, red, white, and, bizarrely, a jet black.

As well as being able to buy the polishes individually, there are also various gift packs available, all of which are packaged in the cutest Hello Kitty boxes. I was lucky enough to be sent a little trio gift pack with some of the new shades in from Just My Look, who are selling the polishes and sets for quite a bit cheaper than most places. The 'Sparkle & Shine' trio pack comes with three full-size polishes: 'Let's Be Friends', 'Look At My Bow' and 'Never Have Too Mani Friends', as well as a free Hello Kitty face is Swarovski crystals, which it suggests you can either use to adorn your nails or just decorate your phone case with!

My favourite shade of the three has got to be 'Look At My Bow' - it's the perfect, sickly sweet pastel pink that is always my go-to when I'm wondering which nail polish colour to go for. It applies well, although I will say it took 2-3 coats to get as opaque as I'd like, but once on it packs a serious punch. I was really excited about trying 'Lets Be Friends', a super pale pink that is almost verging on white, but I found the formula a complete nightmare to apply - it was really thin and streaky and needed three coats to get right. Once on, however, it does look amazing (especially with a tan) - it's just disappointing that it's such a pain to apply! Finally, 'Never Have Too Mani Friends' has the best formula of the bunch - it applies beautifully in just one coat and has a super glossy finish. Unfortunately it's just a plain ol' black which is a bit disappointing, but it's a good polish nonetheless.

Have you tried any of the Hello Kitty by OPI polishes? I'd love to know your thoughts!
