October Goals
My favourite time of the year is officially here, and I am so ready for cosy evenings, hot chocolates, getting wrapped up in autumn fashion and everything this season has to offer. September went by in a flash and I’m so excited to fully embrace the next few months, with Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas to look forward to.

As the year starts to come to a close (how are there only three months left of 2021!?), I thought I’d put together a goals post for the month ahead.
- Start weaving – My mum got me a loom for my birthday and now that the nights are drawing in and the season of cosiness is officially upon us, I thought I’d get stuck in and give weaving a go. I’ve never done anything like it before but I’m excited to get in touch with my crafty side and see what I come up with.
- Save money – After our epic road trip to Scotland last month (post coming soon) my bank balance has definitely taken a hit and with Christmas around the corner and only a couple of pay days left I’m very aware I need to get saving! I’ve been using the Plum app lately (not sponsored, I just kept hearing everyone rave about it and gave in) and it’s really good at squirrelling away money without you really noticing it. I just need to refrain from trips to TK Maxx and Homesense, as those autumn candles are calling my name!
- Catch up on reading – We all know autumn is the season for reading and my TBR pile has been getting bigger by the minute, but I don’t seem to be making a dent in it! I’m currently reading Sally Rooney’s new novel, ‘Beautiful World, Where Are You’ but it’s definitely a slow burner. I don’t think I’ll manage to hit my reading goal on GoodReads this year, but I’ll try my best!
- Start a scrapbook – I’ve been wanting to start a scrapbook for a while now, but didn’t really know what to base it around. We took so many photographs on our Scotland road trip, and had such a brilliant time that I thought a Scotland scrapbook would be perfect. I’m really excited to start it!
- Visit a pumpkin patch – Obviously, it wouldn’t be October without the obligatory trip to the pumpkin patch for autumnal photos! While my boyfriend isn’t the biggest fan, I do love wandering around the pumpkin patch at this time of year and I’m looking forward to going there in.a few weeks.
- Get back into Procreate – I received an iPad Air for Christmas last year, along with an Apple Pencil, but I’ve not really properly gotten into it yet. I want to get back into drawing on a daily basis and hopefully learn some lettering techniques as it’s something I’ve wanted to try since getting into calligraphy a while ago.
- Do some autumn baking – I haven’t baked in so long and with Bake Off back and the flavours at this time of year some of my favourites, I’m excited to grab my mixer and experiment with some bakes. I don’t just want to stick with plain old gingerbread though (I do this every year) but be a bit more experimental and try out some new recipes. We had the most incredible cinnamon apple cake on holiday and I’d love to try and replicate that!
What are your plans and goals for October? Let me know in the comments!
