ASOS Buyer’s Picks Beauty Box Review

Every now and then ASOS come up with a brilliant beauty box bursting with amazing products at a really great price. This summer’s offering is The Buyer’s Picks Box, chosen by the Face + Body experts at ASOS. You can definitely tell it’s been chosen by those in the know – the products in here are definitely cult and for a mere £20 you get NINE of them, a few of which are full-size, and one which is worth £19.99 on its own!

I thought I’d run through the products in the box and give you my thoughts on them, so you can see if it’s worth investing in this box of beauty goodies.

ASOS Buyer’s Pick Box

CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream

(Full-size, RRP £12)

I’ll be honest, this was probably the item I was least excited about when I opened this box up, however it appears to be one of the products with the most hype around it! The CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream has quickly become a cult product with rave reviews thanks to its brilliant formula packed with amazing ingredients. The cream is fantastic at smoothing out uneven and bumpy skin, and is even suitable for sensitive skin types.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream

(15ml, RRP £29.40)

The Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream has always been one of those cult products I’ve wanted to try, but never got around to. I’m so glad this box from ASOS gave me the chance to try it, as I’m totally in love and completely get the hype! This anti-wrinkle day cream smells incredible (as do all of Elemis’ products!) and leaves your skin feeling super soft and hydrated. I can definitely see why it’s won so many beauty awards.

BareMinerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick

(1.8g, RRP for full-size £20)

I’ve always been a fan of BareMinerals’ lipsticks as they’re always super hydrating, and this one is no different. The Bare Minerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick comes in the shade ‘Honesty’, which is the most perfect pink your-lips-but-better shade. I find it very similar in colour to my go-to lipstick from MAC, Please Me, but it’s much more smooth and hydrating on the lips. I absolutely love it and can see me buying the full-size version!

Invisibobble Slim

(Pack of three, RRP £5.99)

I’ve been obsessed with Invisibobbles since I discovered them way back when, so I was delighted to see this set came with a little pack of three of the slim variety. I actually think I prefer these to the original as they’re really discreet but still keep my hair where I want it to be. Definitely recommend!

ThisWorks Stress Check Mood Manager

(5ml, RRP for 35ml £15)

The Stress Check Mood Manager from ThisWorks is essentially an aromatherapy spray that’s motion-activated. It smells amazing and it’s quickly become a must-have on my desk! I’m not entirely sure how much it de-stresses me but making my office smell like a spa definitely boosts my mood!

Indeed Labs noAcid Pads

(Full-size, RRP £19.99)

Indeed Labs is another brand I’ve always been a fan of, so the noAcid Pads were a welcome addition to this box, plus it’s full-size! These pads basically offer the benefits of acids without actually containing any, so they’re great if you struggle with harsher chemicals. They use natural ingredients to help exfoliate skin, improve skin texture, minimise pores and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I use them as a toner after cleansing my skin and absolutely love how they make my skin feel. The endless 5* reviews for these speak for themselves, and as they retail for £19.99 on their own, they’re definitely the star of the set!

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

(7g, RRP for 50g £45)

I’ve loved the Supermud Clearing Treatment face mask from GlamGlow since I had horrendous acne years ago, and as I’ve been having a bit of break-out recently I was so chuffed to see it came in this pack. It’s an absolute must-have if you suffer with acne-prone/oily skin – I always find my skin clears up brilliantly after using this mask.

OUAI Detox Shampoo sachet

(10ml, RRP for 300ml £24)

Ever washed your hair but felt like it still doesn’t quite feel clean enough? Then the Detox Shampoo from OUAI is exactly what you need. It contains apple cider vinegar and is great at getting rid of any access buildup from styling products or dry shampoo. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from OUAI and this is no different!

Revolution Lift & Define 5D Lash

(Full-size, RRP £9)

Mascaras are always a bit of a funny one for me as I tend to wear falsies most days, but I gave this Revolution Lift & Define 5D Lash a go and was definitely pleased with the results. It’s not the best mascara I’ve ever tried but it did a good job of lengthening, lifting and separating my (terrible) lashes. It says it’s an ‘extreme extension mascara’ and I don’t really think it gave my lashes *extreme* length but it did give them a bit of a boost. It’s also meant to hydrate lashes as it contains hyaluronic acid, which is always a bonus!

Overall I am SO impressed with this beauty box from ASOS, and definitely think it will be a sell-out, as the total value of the products compared to the £20 price for the box is insane. Have you bought a beauty box from ASOS before? Let me know your thoughts!
