My Top 9 Favourite Stationery Shops

If you’ve been reading my blog or following my Instagram for a while now, you’ll know I’m a bit obsessed with stationery. My desk drawers are filled with countless notebooks, pastel highlighters, planners, diaries, washi tapes in a selection of colours and designs, paperclips in all shapes and sizes…. you name it, I’ve got it. Over the years I’ve built up quite the stationery collection. So, I thought it made sense, considering a lot of us are working from home now and therefore pretty stationery is of paramount importance, to share some of my favourite stationery shops.
TK Maxx
Not going to lie, one of the things I’ve missed a lot since lockdown began has got to be my regular trips to TK Maxx. Always such a treasure trove of things that you’re never quite sure what you’ll end up with, TK Maxx’s stationery section is incredible. They often have lots of unique brands which aren’t usually available in the UK and their selection of notebooks, diaries and weekly pads is second to none. Luckily you can still find some stationery treats on the website but I will most definitely be taking a trip in-store as soon as they open back up! This all applies to Homesense, the sister store of TK Maxx, too!
Amazon
While these days I try to avoid Amazon in favour of shopping small, sometimes you just find the best deal on Amazon and have to put ‘sticking it to the man’ on hold for a purchase or two. I find Amazon is great for pens (I got all my Zebra Mildliners from here, as well as my Stabilo pastel highlighters) and I get a lot of my wax sealing stuff from there too.
Typo
If there’s one shop that I am absolutely dangerous in it’s got to be Typo. I only discovered the shop a year or so ago but I’ve become a huge fan. They sell a selection of homeware bits and pieces which I love, but they’re also fantastic when it comes to stationery. Notebooks, weekly planners, calendars, pencil cases… you want it, they’ve got it, and usually for a great price too. I think if Typo had existed when I was at uni I would have spent A LOT of my student loan buying stationery in there!
Papier
If you’re looking for a gorgeous, luxe diary or planner then Papier is absolutely the place to go. Their notebooks, planners and diaries are all incredible quality and you can get them personalised too! I have notebooks and diaries from Papier and I can’t fault them at all. They have some beautiful notecards and letter sets which I’ve had my eye on for a while now too. They are pricey, but totally worth it for the quality and there are usually some great offers on. In fact, you can get ยฃ10 off your first purchase with my link – it’s an affiliate link which means I get some money in my Papier account if you order through it – it doesn’t cost you anything extra though!
Rifle Paper Co.
If you’re looking for beautifully illustrated stationery and you don’t mind paying a little more for it, everything Rifle Paper Co. do is incredible. I would deck my whole desk out in it if I could; I just love their unique style of illustration/calligraphy. They do some stunning prints and cards as well as their range of stationery products. They can be tricky to get hold on in the UK – your best bet is looking for independent stockists like Papermash and The Paper Parlour, although they can be found on Anthropologie too.
Katnipp Designs
I discovered Katnipp on YouTube last year, and swiftly fell in love with her Etsy store. If you’re into super cute kawaii illustrations, you absolutely need to check her out. She does everything from memo pads to cards to planner stickers to mouse pads… the list goes on. I got some of her washi tapes to use at Christmas and absolutely love them – I also have my eye on her new mouse pad designs! I’d also recommend checking out her YouTube, particularly if you’re into behind-the-scenes studio vlogs.
Eleanor Bowmer
Another fairly recent-ish discovery, I’m a bit obsessed with all the bright and colourful stationery (and homeware) Eleanor sells. She’s got a range in John Lewis as well as her own website and I love how quirky and eclectic all of her pieces are. I definitely have my eye on this notebook and pen set, and (slightly off-topic) but I also looooove her Magical Eyes kitchen range – I need that apron (and everything else to be honest!) in my life.
Paperchase
Okay, so this one seems like a bit of a no-brainer but I just had to include it, as it’s basically the Holy Grail of stationery shops in the UK and I feel bad that they weren’t doing so well financially earlier in the year. Paperchase is one of my favourite places to buy notebooks, sticky notes, desk accessories and also cards – they just do the best range of pretty/funny cards that you can’t really get anywhere else. I should say 90% of the notebooks in my desk are from Paperchase and they’re brilliant for scrapbooking and office supplies too. I love their themed ranges and honestly think their collections just get better and better.
Note and Wish
Note and Wish’s Etsy shop is a new discovery of mine and while I haven’t actually bought anything from them yet, I definitely will be doing when payday comes around! They do the most beautiful washi tapes, wax seal stampers and planner stickers so I’d definitely check them out if you’re into scrapbooking or journalling. Since getting into calligraphy (post coming soon, promise!) I’ve become a bit obsessed with wax sealing my envelopes and Note and Wish do some of the prettiest wax seals I’ve ever seen.
Where are your go-to stationery shops? Let me know, particularly if you know of any independent/small stationery shops – I’m always looking for new places to shop!
